Tuesday, June 9, 2009

Here's a blogpost I wrote for Lezzy in the City:

Most of lesbian new-found friends would ask me "Where can I find lesbians in Manila?" . I know that it's been a struggle for some lesbians to find for some lesbian love in the city that is why I decided to make this topic as my first blog post. Since I am based here in Manila, I would only be able to give you suggestions around Metro Manila so here goes: (Please read the rest of the article here)

That's kind of shame that there are no more true lesbian bars in Manila as I'm planing to get there in a couple of days. ): Sometimes, being an Asian tourist and lesbian at the same time is really hard to meet foreign lesbians. Sayang. Miss the opportunity again.

On the other hand, it was such a lovely contents to know about Filipino lesbians' trend.

By the way, it is not about LGBT, but do you know any nice&cozy jazz bar in Makati base?

Well, some people say that there's no market here for lesbians. It's really more of the gays. I'm glad there are some lesbian groups here (called lesbian clans) who organize exclusive parties. You just have to be in the circuit to know where the parties will be. Where are you based anyway?

Regarding jazz bars, I don't really frequent to jazz bars. I'm more of a rock listener hehe. :)

At the moment, i'm in Boracay for having a holiday after i finished working at the dive shop and will be in Makati on this Sunday. Haven't decided whether to stay in Manila for a week or to travel to Malaysia instead. ) :

Well, whichever i choose, i will have to be in Makati to meet my Filipino best friend who used to be my English teacher and to hang around. (-:

Let me try to find nice jazz bar +_+

thank you for the comment again.
Cheers! Salamat po

Oh nice :)

I've been to a jazz bar once but it's in Rockwell. I don't know if it's still there. I was there like 5 years ago.. hehe.

Maybe i should ask my Filipino friend working in Makati. Typhoon's coming soon. Aa a result of that, it's raining heavily in Boracay. hope you have a good day!

Rockwell is still in Makati parin though it's not within Greenbelt area.

it's raining here in Manila, specifically in Makati. I'm just hanging out here with my girlfriend.

That sounds really great! hanging out with your girl friend lol I envy you!

Yes, Again, i've realized that Makati is pretty big place to understand where to go and what to do.

Let me read books and magagines at Starbucks instead of being worried about my next destination. It will come out later on.

Wish i had my old Lonely planet on my hands though.

Friends ask me if there are any lesbian bars in Manila and I always tell them to just google it up since there aren't any permanent bars really, just exclusive parties. Yes, I remember La Dida at Malate, but it was short-lived. Sayang yun.

The next time anyone asks me about the scene in Manila, I'll pass the word around. Hope to hear updates about this once in a while!
