Close Up Lovapalooza Discriminates Same Sex Relationships

Monday, February 16, 2009

I for one experienced that myself.

My partner and I were given VIP tickets by someone from San Miguel Beer the night before the Lovapalooza (Valentine's Party Friday night in Ortigas). Since Pupil, one of my favorite bands will be performing, my partner and I decided to attend the event even though we will be coming from Taytay, Rizal in the afternoon and number 2, there will be lots of people there. It's free anyway, so we went for it.

i love the previous lovapaloozas because it's for all (remember the baywalk events). you wont be designated to couples or singles, heteros or homos.

as long as you are there with someone or a bunch of friends, you can jam all thru the event...

i hope this wont happen in the next lovapalooza, which is projected to just have a population of half who attended this year. i mean, theres quite a number of us, same sex couples, who attend this event.

i dont know, but maybe we can make a difference. we still have another year to prepare for the next lovapalooza.

please next time call for a boycott to those kind of events kasi the sole purpose of those events is just to promote their product and make it a commodity. at sana lang yung blog mo ginamitan mo ng marxist analysis para mas reliable bilang socio graduate ka right? ibandera mo ang mga UP socio graduates!

@mae,

teh, so you mean to say na hindi ako reliable because I don't use the marxist perspective?? hmm i think that is limiting your mind my dear. And also, you are limiting all sociology majors.

I am explaining the facts of what happened at that time and what became the point of discussion here is our denial of entry in the event. Most likely isolated incident ako kasi I DID NOT BUY THE TICKET KASI IT WAS GIVEN TO ME BY SOMEONE FROM SAN MIGUEL BEER, one of the sponsors. So I did not tackle the issue of that commodity shit kasi hindi ko naman alam ang proseso ng pagpasok don na hindi nakakuha ng VIP ticket. Anyway, I discussed (if you have read my blog post), DISCRIMINATION. You're a member of UP Babaylan like, you should know that by heart.
